When I began my tenure as the video editor of The Daily Pennsylvanian, I took the helms of a department that was functionally, well, defunct. With no consistent output and a period of vacancy of the position, I had to essentially restart from scratch.
The "10 Questions With..." series, in collaboration with the Sports section, was one of the two founding series of the revamped video department, prioritizing short-form video content for social media, rather than the long-form videos of the YouTube age. While the other series eventually was discontinued, this series went on to become a staple of the video department's output, and a firm symbol of the symbiotic partnership with the Sports section, a first of many collaborations down the line. The current iteration of the series by the publication is now retitled "Quick Questions," but the fundamentals had remained constant, as well as the stylistic guidelines and standards set by me from the first video.
